IT Service Management Survey 2009/2010

ITIL® picking up speed – but only partly

The results from MATERNA's yearly IT Service Management survey are now available. Since 2006, MATERNA has been has been carrying out the IT Service Management survey every year in Denmark, Finland and Sweden (as well as in Germany and Austria since 2003). In 2009, 176 IT-decision makers from Denmark, Finland and Sweden took part in the online IT Service Management survey.

IT departments are well on the way to improving their level of professionalisation by using IT Service Management (ITSM) strategies. This is the key statement revealed by the survey. The results show that acceptance for the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) is continuously on the increase: 90 percent of the companies which took part in the survey placed their trust in ITIL® in 2009, in the year 2006 it was only 59 percent. ITIL® describes rules and processes for running companywide IT-infrastructures efficiently.
