MATERNA successfully launched mass market Fixed Mobile Convergence
MVNE vistream enables German PrePaid customers to use VoIP over WiFi

German PrePaid customers enjoy the first mass market Fixed Mobile Convergence experience. vistream, a fully owned MATERNA subsidiary and the only full MVNE in Germany, launched additional Voice over IP services for PrePaid customer of their partner brand SOLOMO.
PrePaid customers can enable their VoIP service in a web self care area provided by vistream. When entering their home or any public WiFi Hotspot around the world, the WiFi enabled phone – e.g. Nokia E51 – signs on with the VoIP service. From that moment, all originated and terminated calls are routed as VoIP calls via the Hotspot.
Calls via WiFi are cheaper than a GSM call, starting as low as 0,02 Euro/Minute for national calls – regardless of the users location using any Hotspot around the world. Calls to other community users also using the VoIP service are free. The service uses the MSISDN of a subscriber as their single number.
There is also a fixed net side to the product. Users can use their primary MSISDN or a second number for making calls via a WiFi router with their DECT phone. They can even make calls with their mobile on the road and still receive all incoming calls at home.
All services are developed by MATERNA using their hosted MVNE platform vistream, which also operates as a full MVNO in Germany. The platform is a scalable and flexible MVNE platform which has an open architecture to allow smooth integration with the Operator’s existing environment. The platform is able to support end-to-end functionality ranging from Core Network Elements, to services & applications support, to BSS and customer care systems. vistream is up and running since 2005, supporting more than 20 brands with individual offers.
