MATERNA Communications developed a platform for AOL Germany that allows sending SMS and MMS comfortably from the PC to mobile devices – both domestically and internationally.
The online service AOL SMS & MMS, http://pc2sms.aol.de, was re-launched in an appealing new design and expanded features. The service does not require any additional software to be installed and is available to all internet users – whether they are AOL members or not. With this, AOL again expands its mobile services.
The MATERNA platform allows several pricing models, giving users the chance to choose the one that suits them best: “To users who would like to send many SMS or a high amount of data, we can offer very attractive prices through contingents and subscriptions. This way, users can save up to 50 per cent per SMS or MMS”, says Neil Ghosh, Head of Mobile Product Management at AOL. AOL is also focused on offering a transparent cost structure. Users are able to check their account balance as well as the number remaining and sent SMS/MMS at any time online. AOL Micro-Billing and Firstgate’s “clickandbuy” are used for billing.
More features include an online phonebook, shortcuts for composing quick messages and an overview of all your sent and received messages.
