MATERNA Communications joins the industry association GATE e.V. – greater internationalisation of the marketing for Integrated Passenger Services

MATERNA Communications has announced its membership of the industry association GATE e.V. The company, one of the world’s leading providers of self-service solutions for airports and airlines, has thus secured additional support for the international marketing of its product range. Involvement in the organisation is already beginning to bear fruit: MATERNA Communications is to be part of the German stand at TranspoQuip, the largest transport infrastructure trade fair in Latin America, to be held from 10 to 12 November in São Paulo with the support of GATE e.V.
With its Integrated Passenger Services, MATERNA Communications offers airports and airlines various solutions covering check-in right through to take-off. These include CUSS-based applications for checking in online, via mobile phone or at the desk, automated bag drop and solutions for access management, statistics and automated boarding.
For instance, the new “Secure Access” solution from MATERNA Communications offers the possibility of verifying travel documents such as passports, ID cards or driving licences in addition to electronic boarding pass control. This can prevent misuse such as gaining access multiple times by means of copied boarding passes. For airport operators and airlines, “Secure Access” provides a wide range of information which allows workflows to be improved. For example, the MATERNA software logs which checked-in passengers have already moved through to Departures. This information can be used to calculate whether passengers can move more quickly up the waiting list and whether delays to take-off can be avoided.
In joining GATE e.V., MATERNA Communications is becoming part of a platform which encompasses all companies linked either directly or indirectly with the airports industry. Established in 1993, the association focuses in particular on representing the interests of its members at international trade fairs and conventions as well as other trade organisations. GATE can be regarded as a point of contact and source of information for clients of the German airports industry across all the key global markets.
