MATERNA Communications provides extensive security solution for improved Check-in for airports
Extended functionality
Dortmund, 2010-01-21
MATERNA Communications provides a new access system that airline passengers will be allowed to access departure areas while scanning their boarding pass and travel document. In addition the airports will receive a large amount of information which will enable them to optimise departure procedures and improve their passenger services.
With an increasing number of passengers making use of home printed or mobile boarding passes with barcodes, MATERNA’s “SecureAccess” is providing new opportunities to control and regulate access to sensitive airport areas.
MATERNA Communications’ “SecureAccess” solution allows checking not only boarding passes but also travel documents such as passes, ID cards and driving licences and is able to monitor boarding passes electronically. Thus, the more and more stringent airport security requirements can be taken to consideration easily and efficient. The abuse of multiple accesses by duplicated boarding passes can also be prevented.
With “SecureAccess” provided information the airports are able to improve their departure procedures. Knowing passengers already waiting in the departure area, it is possible to determine, for example, whether passengers on the waiting list can be preferred. Thus departure delays can be avoided. Additionaly SecureAccess can be used to analyse the access routes used by passengers and peak times so that airport personnel can be allocated accordingly. SecureAccess passenger advantages are that individual flight information is provided just when entering the departure area. This information’s may include the expected transit time to gate, gate changes or flight delays.
SecureAccess is part of MATERNA ”Integrated Passenger Services”, combining different innovative services for passengers, airports and airlines. MATERNA Communications has been a global leader in the supply of CUSS- (Common Use Self Service) products for many years.
