Cloud solution from MATERNA automates provisioning of IT trainings
In practice: providing training with Cloud Computing
Dortmund/Hannover, 2010-03-01
At CeBIT 2010 the IT service provider MATERNA GmbH presents its services for Cloud Computing for the first time on the basis of specific application examples. MATERNA presents its solution “Training in a Cloud” especially for providers of training and continuing education programmes. This puts companies in a position to administer virtual training environments and to set them up individually without having any special know-how about the IT infrastructure that needs managing.
”Training in a Cloud” makes it possible to implement training environments with much less administrative effort. The cloud-based solution ensures that orders for equipping the virtual class-rooms are carried out according to rules and in defined cycles. Training environments do not need any manual configuration or installation at all now. Providers can consolidate their complete IT infrastructure through this virtualisation and thus achieve considerable cost reductions for their IT hardware. Specialised IT knowledge for controlling the infrastructure is not necessary either. And in “Training in a Cloud” it is possible to implement complex application trainings in the client-server field with several servers. The participants in training programmes access the training environment very simply via the internet – at any time and from anywhere.
skill:form AG – the first innovation partner
One of MATERNA’s first innovation partners to be involved in this topic of “Training in a Cloud” is skill:form AG, a pioneer in the field of innovative IT trainings. “Training in a Cloud” is an optimal platform for this outsourcing and outtasking specialist for training services. “The “Training in a Cloud” solution complements our range of products and provides us with the necessary flexibility to implement even the highest technical requirements of our customers quickly and effectively. If so wished, we can now provide services to our customers on site which previously had only been possible at one of our nationwide training centres. “Training in a Cloud” therefore once again underlines our motto: state of the art technology with service in touch with people’s needs.”, says Dr Tommy Kuhn, CEO at skill:form AG.
Small and medium-sized companies in particular, with limited hardware capacities, can react much more flexibly to new orders with “Training in a Cloud”. Training providers can now also offer unusual training configurations which would not have been economically viable in a conventional form.
“Training in a Cloud” also includes a component for the classic tasks needed for course administration. These functions cover such aspects as planning, creating offers, registration, confirmation and certification. Training providers can thus implement their complete business process with “Training in a Cloud”.
