Mobile World Congress 2011 – MATERNA Communications as pilot in the digital world
Voice and Communication at the centre
Dortmund, 2011-02-08
MATERNA Communications is appearing at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona under the slogan – "Talking Digital”. The company is focusing on products and solutions which centre on virtual and digital communication between people or machines. Further information is also available at mwc.materna.com.
M2M communication – Telemetry data processed reliably
Visitors will be able to see how machine-to-machine communication works in practice on the stand. In the event of an engine failure or a break-in, a radio-controlled car fitted with sensors sends the appropriate data to the MATERNA Communications M2M server via GSM where it is aggregated and forwarded to the control centre. At the control centre, the data from the vehicle, its current location and the damage to the car appears in an action request tool and the required actions, such as notifying the emergency services, is initiated.
In another application example, the visitors at the stand will be able to follow the procedures taken by a MATERNA employee live at the exhibition centre. Fitted with a location-tracker, his current GPS coordinates are transferred via GSM to the M2M server. After the data analysis, it is possible to trace the routes and the current location of the employee on a web-based map.
All the applications shown are based on the MATERNA Communications M2M server which acts as a standardised platform for M2M solutions. The data from any sensors in the M2M-Server can be checked, stored and processed as needed. The application can be used to access the stored data at any time via an easily integrated interface.
Voice services – speech recognition at the highest level
The new voice-to-text solution from MATERNA Communications celebrates its debut at the Mobile World Congress. Messages left in a mailbox are analysed by a reliable speech recognition software and sent as a text summary to the recipient by e-mail or text message. The recipient can therefore receive the message without calling his mailbox.
MATERNA Communications is presenting its VoiceFlash technology using the website of the Austrian MAVIDA Hotel as an example. VoiceFlash enables webpage visitors to enter data into forms, make bookings, ask for information and much more. Thus, VoiceFlash has now become an attractive tool for all service providers, advertisers and companies which aim to present their services compactly, sympathetically and entertainingly and want to significantly increase their contract conclusion rates.
Digital Signage – Interactive programs for screens
With aprevio.tv, MATERNA Communications is showing a previously unique program in the digital signage area – high-quality infotainment combined with mobile elements such as music downloads, competitions, voting and interactive classic games are being used to create a whole new viewing experience in the public domain. Program components shown live in Barcelona include "sound via phone" among others. In this case, a member of the audience can listen to the sound associated with the presentation on the screen synchronised with their mobile phone. All they need to do is dial the number.
e-/m commerce – An established partner of the music industry
With the help of various customer projects, such as Jukebox from Sony Music, MATERNA Communications will be demonstrating the capabilities of its e-/m commerce services which can sell and dispatch digital content such as music and physical formats such as CDs or merchandise (“one basket”). The company offers effective networking between warehouse management, goods despatch, webshop, payment, call centre, marketing and CMS without the shop owner having to set up his own infrastructure.
MVNE – infrastructure, value added services and advice
Entry into the Mobile Virtual Network Operator business has become more attractive than ever. With any mobile operator, service provider or strong brand which is continually striving to expand its reach and reputation, flexible MVNO solutions from MATERNA Communications make it simple – either as managed MVNE Services where the entire solution is easily operated for the customer in MATERNA’s own certified data centre or as a MVNE platform solution which is installed and commissioned on site. With the support of MATERNA Communications, MVNOs have succeeded in placing a full range of voice and data services on the market, both for pre-paid and for post-paid customers.
