e-Spirit and MATERNA introduce SharePoint® 2010 Integration for FirstSpirit CMS

Professional content management enhances collaboration platform - FirstSpirit for multisite management and multilingual web projects in SharePoint environments

Dortmund, 2011-10-20

e-Spirit, manufacturer of the content management system (CMS) FirstSpirit, and MATERNA today introduced a new module for seamless integration of the FirstSpirit CMS in Microsoft SharePoint® 2010. Microsoft SharePoint is a comprehensive business platform for efficient collaboration within a company and on the web. By integrating FirstSpirit, SharePoint users acquire an additional flexible and user-friendly solution satisfying the highest content management requirements, for example, the efficient management of extensive multisite presentations and multilingual web projects, which extend far beyond the options provided by SharePoint's internal CMS. The FirstSpirit "Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Integration" module is being developed by the MATERNA Group in close cooperation with e-Spirit.

Powerful CMS for the .NET world

FirstSpirit enhances the collaboration and document management platform of the SharePoint 2010 Server to include comprehensive CMS functions. They optimally support companies with SharePoint infrastructure, for example, with the central administration and decentralized output of content (multisite management) in any number of languages for international websites. Thanks to the interfacing of FirstSpirit with SharePoint, this can now be implemented and rolled out fast, more cost-effectively and with lower hardware costs. The same also applies to complex, heterogeneous portal landscapes or the publishing of content through different output channels. FirstSpirit provides all the necessary functions and the user-friendly work interface required to economically create corporate content and to publish it optimally prepared for the website visitor. The CMS helps users to manage and output digital content by providing strong, integrated media asset management. "The CMS functions of SharePoint are frequently not enough to meet the requirements of large, international businesses with multilingual websites", says Robert Bredlau, COO North America of e-Spirit Inc. "FirstSpirit Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Integration now provides professional enterprise WCMS to satisfy the highest standards in the .NET world. With MATERNA, we are working with an outstanding partner, who has extensive SharePoint and content management experience."

Technology and integration partnership

Apart from the development of SharePoint integration for FirstSpirit, MATERNA has also included the e-Spirit CMS in its solutions portfolio and is already using it to implement web projects for its customers. "With this partnership we also underpin our manufacturer neutrality in the web content management segment, especially in the industry, trade and service industries. FirstSpirit convinces through consistent best-of-breed orientation and integration strength. The CMS focuses the high usability requirements, especially in the departments responsible for editorial work and therefore quickly achieves a high level of acceptance among users and decision makers alike", says Guido Weiland, Portfolio Manager at MATERNA. "Through the cooperation with e-Spirit we strengthen our market position and our offerings in the "customer services" devision, especially with regard to online marketing and service & support."
