MATERNA System Management Extension for HiPath FM
The MATERNA System Management for HiPath FM (SSM) enables organisations deploying the HiPath FM to extend and enhance fault monitoring and system management tasks to their enterprise specific monitoring requirements. SSM enables well-directed monitoring of critical HiPath system resources and, more importantly, using SSM also resources of non-HiPath (third party) systems can be monitored by HiPath FM.
In addition to the standard capabilities of the HiPath FM, SSM enables the HiPath FM to monitor various specific system parameters (e.g. disk usage, memory usage, process states, log file etc.) of non-HiPath and HiPath devices or to initiate specific tasks automatically (e.g. starting back-ups, removing temporary files) on these systems. Because of the generic approach of the SSM, it can be easily extended by new monitoring or management functions. SSM consists of the SSM Manager Plug-In for HiPath FM and the SSM Agents running on the devices to be managed. An SSM Agent can also operate as a proxy agent monitoring remote devices or devices which do not allow native agents to be installed or run.
