Helmut an de Meulen is particularly responsible for the Business Unit Communication at MATERNA. Today, this Business Unit
is an internationally sought-after partner for mobile providers, service providers, media and organisations. Projects in the area of mobile and fixed networks as well as in the field of internet and telecommunication have priority in the company’s business activities. The Business Unit Communications mainly offers service platforms, network elements, content- and premium services as well as voice and video applications. Furthermore, it is known worldwide as a leading provider of check-in solutions for airlines and airports. The foundation of the 100% subsidiary vistream GmbH - a Mobile Virtual Network Enablers (MVNE) - supplements and complements the portfolio and reflects the company’s mobile phone competence.
In addition to his work as CEO, Helmut an de Meulen is an active member in various organisations in the ITC business. He is actively involved in the VDE ("Verein Deutscher Elektroingenieure" = Association of German Electrical Engineers) and in the SIEMENS IC user association "SICUS". Moreover, Helmut an de Meulen has taken over several honorary posts. Here, it is especially important for him to strengthen the Ruhr region. In January 2007 he was voted chairman of the association "pro Ruhrgebiet e.V.". As chairman of this association, Helmut an de Meulen has especially been involved in the promotion of young companies for many years. Helmut an de Meulen has formed partnerships for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs in the project "Gründersupport Ruhr" (GRS) of the association "pro Ruhrgebiet". In addition, he is a Member of the Board of the Fachhochschule Dortmund (University of Applied Sciences Dortmund) Support Association.
