Materna management comprises of Helmut Binder, CEO and Michael Knopp, CFO. After 35 years as managers of Materna, the founders, Dr. Winfried Materna and Helmut an de Meulen, are now members of the advisory board since April 1 2015. This continuity, after thirty-five years of company history, is of particular benefit to our staff: we provide secure jobs where they can carry out their tasks flexibly and independently. Loyalty and trust are very important to us all.
Helmut Binder, Chief Executive Officer
Helmut Binder was appointed Chief Executive Officer at Materna in February 2015. Helmut Binder is an experienced IT sector expert with extensive leadership and sales experience in management and executive positions. Before coming to Materna, for many years he had been responsible for the solutions and international sales divisions as Executive Vice President at Rittal. Based in Herborn, Rittal is a worldwide leading software provider for enclosures, cooling systems and IT infrastructure. Previous to that, Helmut Binder had held management positions in sales and marketing at Sony Deutschland, Deutsche Telekom AG and T-Systems. As managing director there, his key responsibilities included the topics of marketing, product management and shareholdings. Helmut Binder studied business management in Cologne and Tokyo.
Michael Knopp, Chief Financial Officer
Michael Knopp was appointed Chief Financial Officer at Materna in May 2017. Michael Knopp has many years of experience as the head of finance and as a commercial director in stock-market-listed IT and investment goods companies as well as in companies with international subsidiaries. Michael Knopp spent almost ten years as the Financial Director and CFO at Süss MicroTex AG, Germany. Before that, he was Commercial Managing Director at Kemmax GmbH, Germany, and at the same time held the position of CFO International Operations for the Canadian parent company Chemtrade Logistics. Before, he worked for Realtch AG, Germany, Sensormatic Electronics GmbH, Gerresheimer Glas AG and auditors Wollert-Elmendorff Deutsche Industrie-Treuhand GmbH. Knopp studied business studies from 1989 to 1995 at the University of Bayreuth.
