The airline TUI won three awards at the Real IT Awards (RITA) in London, on 17 May 2018, for the significant service improvements achieved by installing its Self-Service Bag-Drop application at Gatwick Airport. Materna is very satisfied with the first half of 2019. In comparison to the same period in the previous year, turnover for the group has grown by 7.9 percent to 149 million Euros. EBIT grew at an above average rate by 34 percent to 14.7 million Euros (previous year 10.9 million Euros). Recruitment is still working well too: the Materna Group’s total number of staff has topped 2,200 for the first time, with more than 160 additional employees compared to June last year.
Tim Thomas (40) has taken over the vacant position of Senior Vice President Marketing & Communications at IT consulting company Materna Information & Communications SE as of January 1, 2022. In this role, he expands the Executive Management Board of the Materna group and reports to CEO Martin Wibbe. Tim Thomas was previously Executive Vice President Marketing & Communications and a member of the management board at the market companion msg group in Munich.
